Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I tested file transfer with SSH and I received similar non-cached xfer speeds (144 kB/s upstream and downstream from my current location).

So, I think the hardware/ISP is doing okay.

FYI: The standard set of services (HTTPD and sendmail) are not started.

Anything else?
